A new 9-Level, 817 space, Parking Garage for the new 10-acre medical campus development for UPMC’s Children’s Hospital Campus located in Pittsburgh’s Lawrenceville neighborhood. Though it appears as an Open Air type Garage, because of its connections to other campus facilities, this garage was designed as a high rise closed-in parking structure; fully equipped with sprinklers, traction elevators, pressurized stair towers, and connections to the central campus command center.

Our firm was the Architect of Record for this Design-Build Project; teaming up with Contractor, Hunt Construction Group. As the lead design professional, We provided all Architectural and foundation related documents, as well as coordination services for mechanical, electrical and plumbing items.

Because of the parking garage’s location, bordering residential properties; an important aspect of the design was to visually reduce the Garages overall height, for a better integration with the residential townhomes across the street. This was done using brick pillars and architecturally treated red-colored precast mix create a line on the Garage facades that match the roof lines of the adjacent residential homes.
